About Bonito
Situated in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, at 330km southeast of the Capital Campo Grande,  in the border of  Bodoquena Sierra and Pantanal, Bonito is a place of exceptional natural beauty not seen elsewhere.  This state contains the state largest extension of preserved natural forests, with predominance of the Cerrado and a significant biodiversity.
It’s natural attractions include caverns, caves, waterfalls, many rivers and lakes.  The existence of calcareous rocks that is free of impurities guarantee crystal clear waters, even during rainy days.  The waters are always extraordinarily crystalline, having a green bluish coloration and a great scenic beauty.  
This region offers over 40 possibilities of ecotourism activities which vary from:  walking trips, fluctuation in the rivers, horseback riding, autonomous diving, rappel and many more.

Bonito is a model-city in terms of tourism organization. It has adopted a system of visitations with the purpose of preserving the local natural environment. Therefore, tourists may only visit rivers, lakes, caverns and forests – the majority of which are located inside private properties – if accompanied of guides accredited by local agencies. To avoid negative impacts on nature, it has been established a maximum number of tourists per day who may visit each attraction.

Bonito’s weather is humid and tropical. It is hot and rainy between October and March. But between June and August, the weather is dry and cold, and temperatures may go below 10ºC. Annual average temperature is of 22ºC.

About Wetiga Hotel

It’s a new hotel situated in the very heart of the quaint city of Bonito.
It offers 2 swimming pools with wet bar and a Jacuzzi massage for it’s guests.  Bar and Restaurant offering great regional dishes and room service.

In the heart of Bonito in the main street of Bonito stands the hotel close to all shops and restaurants of the city.

PROGRAM

1 Day – Campo Grande / Pantanal
Arrival in Campo Grande in the morning.  Meet with local guide and proceed on transfer to Bonito by land (approximately 290Km – 3hrs40m).    When we arrive in Bonito we will proceed directly to the hotel for check in.
The rest of the day is free for strolling around the center of town.
Evening free.
Overnight at your hotel.

2 Day – Bonito
2 Day – Bonito After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the pousada for a visit to the famous Blue Lake Cave (Gruta do Lago Azul). From the entrance you start with a 40 minutes walk towards the cave, and after descending 100 meters, you will see the inside lake with crystal clear water. The depth is 72 meters and in the morning when the sunbeams hit the lake, the water will have an intense blue color, explaining the name of this cave. At the afternoon visit to Sucuri river, lunch will be served here. After a relax break we start the tour. You will walk through an interpretative trail in the Sucuri River ciliary forest. Along the trail, you will glimpse birds, wild animals as the mutum, the udu, the nail-monkey, the cutia and exuberant vegetation. The trail finishes at the place where the snorkeling begins. As you enter the transparent water lake formed by the many fresh water springs, you will discover a new sub aquatic world. There is a curious sensation of flying as we float in the crystal clear waters surrounded by amazing fish and vegetation. After that you will go down river finding out a totally fantastic world, with colors and forms of infinite beauty. Mask, snorkel and neoprene clothes are included in the package. Return to Bonito.

3 Day - Pantanal / Cuiaba
Depending your domestic flight, you have time in the morning at leisure to stroll around the city, rent a bike or join an optional tour. At a set time determined by your local guide, you will be met by driver at the hotel  for transfer to the airport of Campo Grande.  Domestic flight.

What to bring:
Light weight pants or jeans, T-shirts,  shorts, bathing suit, extra socks and underwear, sandals, good walking and/or old tennis shoes,  sun hat,  sun screen, insect repellent, binoculars, camera, film, extra batteries.

General conditions:

1. The mentioned rates are per person and valid until December'2007.
2. This package is not valid during Christmas, New Years, Carnival and Holidays.
3. The activities described may be altered due to weather conditions, season or group make-up with the intent of maximizing your experience of the eco-system.
4. For payment of extras, the Wetiga hotel accepts major credit cards:  visa, master and dinners but it’s advisable that you carry enough cash.
   Round trip transfers are on private basis, but excursions in Bonito will be joined with other passengers as per local rules.

Cancellations:
Accepted only until 20 days prior to beginning of tour - cancellation penalty of US$ 100.00 per person will apply to cover handling costs. 
Any cancellation from 19 days to arrival date is subject to penalty of full amount of package.  Non-refundable.
