About Foz do Iguassu
The area became a National Park in 1939 and protects 185 thousand hectares of rainforest and water. A major investment in park infrastructure in 2001 now assures visitors a wide range of options for leisure, ecotourism and adventure. The power of the falls can be appreciated through trails, observation towers and outlooks. The mystery and variety of the vast surrounding rainforest, with many birds and butterflies can be seen on hikes, bike and boat tours. The more adventurous can do tree rope courses, rappel with the falls as a backdrop, go on a wild boat ride right up the Devil’s Throat or down to right before the drop.

Close by is the well run Bird Park where you can have close encounters with Brazil’s birdlife in open aviaries. Well worth a visit is the dam of Itaipu, one of the engineering wonders of the world, which has several interesting programs for visitors. A cruise on the Parana River to learn about the ecosystem and the lifework of scientist Moises Bertoni is also an excellent option.

PROGRAM  A

DAY TOUR: 
Meet local driver guide in Rio and transfer to airport for flight to Iguassu (flight not included).
Arrival in Foz do Iguassu (Iguassu airport = IGU) and meet local bilingual guide who will proceed with immediate transfer from airport to Brazilian National Park (entrance fee included).  
Visit the Brazilian Falls, walking tour along the catwalks and trails ending tour at Porto Canoas restaurant where lunch will be served (buffet style, no drinks or tips included).
The restaurant offers a panoramic view over the falls from where one can take nice pictures.  

At time determined by local guide proceed back to airport for return flight to Rio.
Arrival in Rio, meet local driver guide and transfer to your hotel.

PROGRAM B

1 Day – Rio / Foz do Iguassu 
At set time (according to flight schedule) leave Rio de Janeiro hotel to the airport with driver guide.
When you arrive in Iguassu, meet local guide and proceed on transfer to your hotel for check in or directly on to the excursion to the Brazilian Falls followed by lunch.
Entrance to the Brazilian National Park of Iguassu is included.
Rest of afternoon and evening free – suggest taking optional excursions (if you want to add to package please consult our staff)
Overnight at hotel.

2 Day -  Foz do Iguassu / Rio.
After breakfast proceed on check out and immediately depart (time to be determined by local guide the day before) for excursion to the Argentine side of the falls.
Entrance to the Argentinean National Park is included.
Lunch can be taken somewhere along the tour (not included).

After lunch, return directly to airport for flight back to Rio de Janeiro. (flight to Rio not included)
Arrival in Rio, meet local driver guide and proceed on transfer to your hotel.

PROGRAM C

1 Night at Tropical Hotel das Cataratas (Superior)

1 Day – Rio / Foz do Iguassu 
At set time (according to flight schedule) leave Rio de Janeiro hotel to the airport with driver guide.

When you arrive in Iguassu, meet local guide and proceed on transfer to your hotel for check in.

Walking guided tour of the Brazilian Falls immediately in front of your hotel;

Trekking or cycling experience in the National Park of Iguassu meeting the Iguassu River where you will canoe down the river until reaching the falls where you will disembark.
Entrance to the Brazilian National Park is included.

Evening, dinner and Folklore Show at local restaurant (drinks not included)
Overnight at hotel.

2 Day -  Foz do Iguaçu
Breakfast at hotel.
Morning free until check out – 11:00
Check out.
Lunch is included at Porto Canoas restaurant.

At set time by your local guide, meet and proceed on transfer to airport for flight back to Rio de Janeiro. (Flight to Rio not included)
Arrival in Rio, meet local driver guide and proceed on transfer to your hotel.

 

2 Nights at Hotel das Cataratas (Superior)

1 Day – Rio / Foz do Iguassu 
At set time (according to flight schedule) leave Rio de Janeiro hotel to the airport with driver guide.
When you arrive in Iguassu, meet local guide and proceed on transfer to your hotel for check in or directly on to the excursion to the Brazilian Falls and if time permits, adventure on the Macuco Safari.
Entrance to the Brazilian National Park of Iguassu is included.

Evening, dinner and Folklore Show at local restaurant (drinks not included)
Overnight at hotel.

2 Day -  Foz do Iguassu
After breakfast begin your half day tour to the Argentinean side of the Falls where you will see the Devil’s Throat falls.
From there, return to Brazilian side and continue your visit to the Brazilian Hydroelectric Plant of Itaipu Dam, visit the Birds Park and return to hotel in the afternoon.
Lunch not included.
Entrance to the Argentinean National Park, Itaipu Dam and Birds Park is included.

Evening at leisure.  Suggest dinner at poolside hotel if weather permits.
Overnight at hotel. 

3 Day - Foz do Iguassu / Rio
Breakfast
Depending on your scheduled flight.
Morning free for optional excursions (canoeing on Iguassu River, helicopter over flight the falls and others).  Please consult our staff for optional excursions.

At set time by your local guide, meet and proceed on transfer to airport for flight back to Rio de Janeiro. (flight to Rio not included)

About The Tropical das Cataratas

It is the only hotel inside the Iguassu National Park.
Fully integrated in nature the Tropical das Cataratas was built in colonial Portuguese style with 203 cozy rooms. It is located 15km from the International Airport and 25km from the center of Foz do Iguassu. The Tropical Cataratas was pioneer in adopting ecological policies and thus became the first South America

Rooms and facilities:
It has 200 comfortable rooms distributed in 2 floors and wide corridors where small baskets collect trash for recycling. The access to the rooms can be up the stairs or taking the lift next to reception.
                      
Mini-bar, Hair dryer, DDD and DDI direct dialling system, Cable TV, Voltage: 110 volts, Air-conditioning, Individual Safe, Blackout Curtains.
2 restaurants, 1 bar, swimming pool, The Tropical das Cataratas has recreation teams for adults and children. After the breakfast the entertainers are available with the daily program. There is a space reserved only for children that is open daily until 10 p.m.  Soccer Field, Internet, Belvedere, Piano Bar, Playground, Volleyball court, Tennis court, games room.

What to bring:
T-shirts. sneakers or walking shoes, comfortable clothes, hat or cap, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, binoculars (optional), camera and film.  Swimsuits are also recommended if you take the Macuco Safári or boat trips or want to enjoy the hotel pool.

General conditions:

1. The mentioned rates are per person and valid until December'2007. 
2. These packages are not valid during Christmas. New Years. Carnival and Holidays.
3. The activities described may be altered due to weather conditions, season or group make-up with the intent of maximizing your experience of the eco-system.
4. For payment of extras the mentioned most hotels will accept major credit cards (visa or master or amex and diners).  But, we advise you to take some cash to be safe for extras and optional excursions. 
5. All services are on private basis in air-conditioned vehicles.

Cancellations:
Accepted only until 20 days prior to beginning of tour - cancellation penalty of US$ 100.00 per person will apply to cover handling costs. 
Any cancellation from 19 days to arrival date is subject to penalty of full amount of package.  Non-refundable.
