About the Ilha Grande (Angra dos Reis)
Ilha Grande is an ecological paradise situated 125 km outside Rio, between the bays of Angra dos Reis and Mangaratiba. 1/3 of the island is State Park that was created in 1971 to preserve the Atlantic Forest. Boat trips, diving, trekking and a great variety of beautiful beaches make this place into a perfect choice for your trip. The close contact with nature is the most important thing in this island just 3 hours from Rio de Janeiro city. Ilha Grande and Vila do Abraão even though structured for receiving visitors, it’s kept small as the original fisherman village offering an experience of simple life style with great charm. Walking bare foot and enjoying time naturally.
Accomodation & facilities
The best option to stay in Ilha Grande are the many pousadas “inns” , which provide you with the basic comforts and amenities, where the rooms have comfortable beds and private bathrooms, air conditioning and mini-bars. In all, each inn is distinct from one another and has its own charm.
PROGRAM
Day 1 - Rio de Janeiro / Ilha Grande
5h45 - Meet your driver guide and proceed on transfer to Vila do Mangaratiba.
08h00 - Arrival at the Píer of the city and board the “ferry boat” for transfer to Ilha Grande.
09h30 - Arrival in the island, meet local guide and proceed by walking to your pousada. The baggage will be taken by pousada staff.
Remaining of the day at leisure for relaxing, strolling around.
Overnight at pousada.
Day 2 - Ilha Grande
Breakfast:08h00 to 10h00 at the pousada.
At time to be determined by your local guide, you will walk to the central píer of Abraão beach and board a local boat “transfer” - 09h30 or 10h30 or 11h30 - to Lopes Mendes beach, considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the island with 3 km long of white sand, clear water with waves and wild nature.
The boat leads you to Praia do Pouso, from where begins a esay walk of approximately 20 minutes towards Lopes Mendes beach.
The path led through the Atlantic forest until the place to swim and snorkeling at the beach. There is also a pipe where you can refresh yourself. After 3 hours relaxing on Lopes Mendes, the tour proceeds returning to the Pouso pier to take the boat back to Vila do Abraão.
Remaining of the evening at leisure.
Overnight at pousada.
Day 3 - Ilha Grande
Breakfast:08h00 to 10h00 at the pousada.
Day free for relaxing or doing any of the optional tours. (not included in the package).
17h00 - Meet at Abraão Village main pier for your ferry boat transfer to Mangaratiba (departure by 17h30).
19h00 - Arrival at Mangaratiba, meet local driver guide and proceed on transfer to Rio de Janeiro.
21h00 – Estimated time of arrival in Rio. Drop off at Rio’s hotel or airport.

- This package is not valid during Christmas, New Years, Carnival and Holidays.
- The activities described may be altered due to weather conditions, season or group make-up with the intent of maximizing your experience of the eco-system.
- For payment of extras, the pousadas take most credit cards, but we advise you to take enough cash for extras and optionals.
- All services are on regular basis. Please consult for private services rates.

Bookings will only be considered confirmed after we have received full payment of package.

Cancellations:
Accepted only until 20 days prior to beginning of tour - cancellation penalty of US$ 100.00 per person will apply to cover handling costs.
Any cancellation from 19 days to arrival date is subject to penalty of full amount of package. Non-refundable.
