About the Pantanal
With a total area of approximately 150,000km² and located in the center of the continent, the Pantanal is a biogeography mixing bowl containing elements of the Amazon Forest, the Caatinga, the Brazilian Savannah, the Atlantic Rainforest and the Paraguayan Chaco. This fantastic biodiversity includes: 698 bird species, 80 mammals, 260 fish species and 50 reptiles.
About Araras Eco Lodge
Location:
Along the Transpantaneira Park Road, 132 Km (82 miles) from Cuiabá. (Cuiabá- Poconé: 100 km [62 miles], paved road + Poconé - Araras Eco Lodge: 32 Km [20 miles], dirt road).
The Lodge:
Total of 19 standard rooms & bathrooms (14 twin + 3 triple + 2 quadruple rooms), air conditioning and ceiling fan,
private bathrooms with hot and cold shower. Large verandas with hammocks. Two observation towers (12 m and 25 m in
height). Swimming pool. Bar & restaurant. Electricity power line. Cellular telephone.
The hotels may vary according to availability in which case similar hotel category will be offered instead.

PROGRAM
1 Day - Cuiaba / Pantanal
Arrival at Cuiabá, Várzea Grande airport (flight not included*), or pick up at your hotel meet local guide and transfer to Pantanal lowlands.
While crossing the area, it is possible to spot and appreciate the local flora & fauna.
Late afternoon hike through surrounding area to a 12 m observation tower and a spectacular view of sunset.
After dinner at the lodge, night walk to observe the South Hemisphere sky, hear and feel the nocturnal environment.
Overnight at Araras Eco Lodge
2 Day - Pantanal
Breakfast.
After breakfast travel down private dirt roads, to Sentinela Camp on the edge of the Rio Clarinho.
Canoe tour to spot aquatic wildlife, birds and flora; possibility of piranha fishing.
Brazilian churrasco (BBQ) style picnic lunch along the banks of the river.
Return to the lodge.
Enjoy sunset from our 25m high outlook.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
3 Day - Pantanal / Cuiaba
Early morning hike for sunrise.
Breakfeast at pool side, before your photo safari transfer to Cuiabá.
Drop off at airport or city hotel

- The mentioned rates are per person and valid until December'2007.
- This package is not valid during Christmas, New Years, Carnival and Holidays.
- The activities described may be altered due to weather conditions, season or group make-up with the intent of maximizing your experience of the eco-system.
- For payment of extras, the Araras Eco Lodge, recommended cash payment.
- All services are on regular basis. Please consult for private services rates.

Cancellations:
Accepted only until 20 days prior to beginning of tour - cancellation penalty of US$ 100.00 per person will apply to cover handling costs.
Any cancellation from 19 days to arrival date is subject to penalty of full amount of package. Non-refundable.
